Otto

Otto is an indie pop band from Detroit. Their 80’s inspired brand of synthy pop uses dreamy instrumentals to drive the kind of playful, painfully honest lyrics you always wanted to say, but never did.

Otto’s forthcoming debut EP was written almost entirely over Zoom sessions in the winter of 2020. The first time the band was all in the same room at the same time wasn’t until March 2021, to record their project together in Nashville, TN. The resulting collection of songs follows the creative evolution of the band’s personality and individual influences over the year they spent getting to know each other virtually, and brings together groovy, rhythmic guitar riffs, anthemic arpeggiation, and a Tears-For-Fears-esque nostalgia for an electronic synth — all paired with storytelling lyricism that reflects on the human experience of navigating love and change.

In just 6 months since their first release, Otto have garnered attention from companies like Assemble Sound and Indiewell, and have landed a placement in LIB MGMT's artist development program. With their debut EP slated for release this spring, 2022 is gearing up to be a year of even more growth for the Detroit "Nostalgia-Pop" outfit.

Soloveichik
Soloveichik is the solo-project of Michigan native Andrew Solway, whose songwriting blends the familiarity of Midwest-Emo with his own brand of poignant storytelling. His first full length album, ‘At the Close’, made in partnership with longtime collaborators Austin Stawowczyk (Shortly, Seaholm) and Evan Laybourn, draws inspiration from Richard Powers’ sprawling novel ’The Overstory,’ as well as his own experiences with loss and self-reckoning. From the writer: “I wrote these songs at a point in my life where I was not sure I wanted to be around anymore. I had hurt everyone around me, myself most of all… it took me a long time to realize that to die was just as much a choice as to try life. I knew that whatever I ended up choosing, I was at the close of whatever story I had been telling myself all along…” In laying his own spiritual reckoning bare, Solway crafts stories that strike at the heart of what it means to live in integrity with oneself after the storm.

‘At the Close’ will be available on all streaming platforms on 1/21/2022.
